Philanthropic Endeavors

It is with great pleasure that Progressive Medical makes a significant number of charitable contributions throughout the year.  The following is representative of the organizations we  supported financially in 2007.

American Red Cross:

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Big Brothers Big Sisters:

Big Brothers Big Sisters impacts the lives of approximately 5,000 children and youth in the Central Ohio area each year through its Mentoring program.  Their vision is for every child in our community who desires mentoring to receive it.  Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring is seen as a response that can help young people overcome difficult barriers they face and has shown positive results such as a decrease in the use of drugs and alcohol and a more positive attitude toward education.  Progressive Medical's contribution will go directly toward the Mentoring program in Central Ohio.

Christopher Columbus Education Foundation:

The Christopher Columbus Education Foundation is one of the largest Italian American Scholarship programs in Central Ohio.  The foundation provides financial assistance to student's seeking advancement through education by awarding annual scholarships.  These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic record, financial need, an appreciation of Italian and leadership ability.

CURE:

CURE is an organization focused on assisting China on developing a new world-class center to find a cure of childhood cancer.

IMPACT Safety:

IMPACT builds safety from the inside out.  IMPACT teaches people the critical emotional and physical skills necessary to reduce risk, prevent violence, make safe choices and live and work with greater confidence.

Junior League of Columbus:

The Junior League of Columbus' Adopt-A-Backpack Program provides brand new backpacks that have been filled full of school supplies and donates or rewards them to children in the Columbus community to start the new school year.

Muscular Dystrophy Association:

Muscular Dystrophy Association is a national voluntary health agency dedication to conquering more than 40 neuromuscular diseases that affect a million Americans of all ages.

Ohio Business Week:

Ohio Business Week is a program dedicated to preparing Ohio's high school students for success in the American free enterprise system while promoting leadership, integrity and entrepreneurship.

Ohio Crime Prevention Association:

The Ohio Crime Prevention Association is a not-for-profit membership supported organization representing public and private sector crime prevention programs.  OCPA develops and advances a continuum of education opportunities, resources and networking in an effort to prevent crime in Ohio.

Salvation Army:

The Salvation Army provides services year round, but is most visable at Christmas time.  Each year they provide special assistance to thousands of families in Central Ohio.  A variety of programs provide food, clothing and toys to those without the financial resources to meet many of their basic needs.  Progressive Medical's donation was specifically used for the Christmas Cheer program - a large scale food and toy distrubution at the State Fairgrounds.  Because of our contribution, The Salvation Army was able to reach their goal and provide for all families in need!

Wendy's Chili Open:

Wendy's Chili Open benefits Central Ohio Children's charities including Westerville Sunrise Rotary Foundation, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Children's Hunger Alliance, the Special Care Nursery at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, Ohio Troopers Caring, Inc. and Westerville Area Resource Ministry.

Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce:

The objectives of the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce are to promote the interests of area business and the community while providing members with services made available through Chamber membership.  The Chamber also works to enhance the community's quality of life and the economic, civic and cultural growth of the Westerville area.

Westerville Area Resource Ministry (W.A.R.M.):

The work of WARM provides compassionate, short-term assistance, educational services and spiritual support in order to encourage individuals to achieve a God-reliant, self-sufficient life while restoring dignity and hope.

In addition to making financial contributions to the above organizations, Progressive Medical employees contribute their time and resources throughout the year.
