WESTERVILLE, Ohio (July 13, 2010)—Progressive Medical, Inc. (http://www.progressive-medical.com) today announced it has named Robert L. Hall, MD, as Medical Director. Dr. Hall, who brings an advantageous combination of physical medicine and rehabilitation, and workers’ compensation claims management, will help Progressive Medical continue to revolutionize the way claims are analyzed with a total cost approach.
“As Progressive Medical continues to grow and evolve our workers’ compensation claims management products and services, it’s vital that we recruit and maintain the best medical and claims services professionals as possible,” said Kevin Banion, President and COO of Progressive Medical. “We look forward to leveraging Dr. Hall’s unique blend of experiences in physical medicine and claims to better serve our clients.”
The announcement follows Progressive Medical’s recent promotion of Tron Emptage to Chief Clinical and Compliance Officer and the naming of Jeff Haskett to Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. All three roles are critical to fulfill the company’s market expansion and competitive strategy.
Selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America” 2009-2010, Dr. Hall completed his medical school training and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at The Ohio State University. Dr. Hall also received his Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in electrical engineering from Ohio State. He is board-certified in both electrodiagnostic medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation. He serves as a physiatrist at Columbus-based Physical Medicine Associates, Inc., and also as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ohio State. Dr. Hall provides acute inpatient rehabilitation medicine services and maintains an outpatient practice where he focuses on electromyography, stroke rehabilitation and musculoskeletal medicine.
“The way we analyze workers’ compensation claims is changing,” Banion said. “Now, instead of solely focusing on medication costs, we’re analyzing the entire cost of the medical expense as it relates to the total claim process. Dr. Hall will be a major player in this new strategy to serve our clients more effectively and efficiently,” he said.
As Medical Director, Dr. Hall will guide Progressive Medical clinicians in evidence-based medical processes to tie internal process into the total claim cost concept.
“We’re an innovative leader in the marketplace with our people and commitment to excellent customer service,” Banion said. “With our new approach to provide a view of total care, total cost and total savings, we’ll continue to deliver even more value to our clients.”
