As healthcare has developed into its current state, scientists and healthcare practitioners have perfected the use of electrified pulses to treat and eliminate pain. This treatment to minimize pain often comes from a TENS unit. TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.
A TENS unit uses an electro frequency of approximately 80 – 90 MegaHertz and transmits electrical pulses to nerves within the body. Typically it takes about 30 minutes before the injured party begins to feel the effects of a TENS unit. TENS units are not dangerous and there are no side effects.
There are a wide variety of TENS units in the marketplace consisting of both brand and generic models. As with any product, brand name items tend to carry a higher price tag. The below figures are representative of average industry unit costs for rental and purchase.
